Stihl Leaf Blower Reviews
Here’s a quick rundown of two of the best Stihl leaf blower products available: the BG65 and the BG85.
Stihl Leaf Blower BG65
This Stihl gas powered leaf blower features a 0.9 horsepower engine with a 27.2 cc displacement. A fairly heavy duty blower, this model is perfect to have around the house if you live in a heavily wooded area that needs constant leaf-clearing. But as high powered as it may be, the BG65 only weighs 9.3 pounds, which is nothing when compared to similar models from other brands.
The BG65 can be a bit noisy (69 dba), but that’s to be expected with a powerful leaf blower of this caliber. Just make sure you’re wearing protective ear wear when using it.
Stihl Leaf Blower BG 85
The BG85 is a top of the line leaf blower from a top shelf company. It uses a 1.1 horsepower engine to deliver an air velocity of 183 mpg (with a flat tube) and 447 cfm (with a round tube). This is a powerful machine, more so than the BG65, and will clear out anything you put it behind.
Advantages of this model include:
- Easy start
- Durable construction
- Lightweight design (9.3 pounds)
- Good anti-vibration system
Stihl Leaf Blower: Toe-to-Toe with Husqvarna
Who has the best gas powered leaf blower? Who has the best electric powered leaf blower? Who is the best overall: Stihl or Husqvarna?
There are a number of people who would argue for each side–both companies have a great following and are wildly successful in the power tool department. But with regards to leaf blowers (both electric and gas-powered), which company should you pay the closest attention to? Which offers you the best line of goods?
When it comes to competition with the Stihl gas powered leaf blower, there simply is no competition. Husqvarna makes decent machines, but these cannot match up against Stihl’s line. The power of the two lines is comparable when brand new (especially with the 125B blower), but Husqvarna products tend to wear down over time, much faster than Stihl’s.
And the competition with the best Stihl electric powered leaf blower is non-existent.
Husqvarna doesn’t have an electric model for sale that could ever stand chin to chin with an electric Stihl leaf blower. Stihl’s BGE 61 is a 120 volt, 9.2 amp machine that is incredibly lightweight and super powerful to boot.
In the fight between Stihl leaf blower products and Husqvarna leaf blower products, the knockout came quick and the decision was a no-brainer: Stihl all the way.
